Thermal 3Ht Insulation
Thermal 3Ht is available in rolls, accordion fold and boards (sheets). Thermal 3Ht comes in thicknesses from 3/8” to 2” or thicker by special order. Boards are available in 4’ X 8”, 4’ X 10’ and 4’ X 12’ sheets. Accordion fold is available in 200 sq. ft. bundles and rolls which are manufactured in thicknesses of 3/8” and ½” X 72’ long.
Metallic reflective facers, reinforced white woven facers or any combination of the two are laminated to either side of the EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) core of Thermal 3Ht. Reflective (silver) facers are recommended for most applications, however when extra strength, durability and flexibility is required the reinforced white woven facer becomes the laminate of choice. Examples of reinforced white woven applications: below grade, concrete floors, insulation behind stucco, insulating foundations and basements from the outside, long term exposed applications, etc.

Thermal 3Ht Product Application
Thermal 3Ht Insulation provides a continuous, uniform envelope throughout the building, stopping moisture and air infiltration, This protective envelope also reflects radiant energy back to or away from any building or structure.
Thermal 3Ht in the Basement
Thermal 3Ht is an excellent insulator and is ideal for insulating both new and existing basement floors and walls. Since concrete is extremely dense it is able to retain a large amount of heat. This ability is referred to as “the thermal mass effect”. In non-insulated basements, because the soil is colder than concrete, heat from the basement is attracted to the cold soil. This ultimately leads to a cool, damp and uncomfortable environment.
Thermal 3Ht can be installed on either side of concrete basement walls but in new construction it is generally installed on the exterior of the walls. This allows the Thermal mass of the concrete walls to reach the indoor temperature and block the ground temperature from affecting the internal temperature of the building. Thermal 3Ht is extremely flexible and durable; consequently it is capable of withstanding the adverse effects of below grade back filling.
When installed on interior basement walls, Thermal 3Ht not only isolates the cold soil and concrete from the basement living area it actually reflects 97% of radiant heat back to the warmer living area. With Thermal 3Ht any basement can become a healthy, cozy and energy efficient living environment.
