UNDERSTANDING RADIANT BARRIERS

Radiation from the sun can penetrate building materials and heat the house from the inside out. Thermal 3Ht has a radiant barrier built into the insulation material. This metalized Mylar™-like material reflects the radiant energy produced by the sun and eliminates this problem. Conventional insulation is ineffective against radiant energy. NASA used Mylar™ in the space program to stop radiant energy from entering space suits. Radiant energy is one of the forms of heat transfer that most insulation products are not equipped to stop. Thermal 3Ht Insulation uses a metalized Mylar™-like material to stop the radiant energy from heating the structure.
