Convection

UNDERSTANDING CONVECTION

Convection is the transfer of heat energy in a gas or liquid by movement of warmed air. Example: steam from a pot of boiling water. Since warm air naturally migrates to cold air, convection within wall and ceiling cavities is a major contributor to energy loss in buildings.
